Get the remote, blankies, dummy’s, trackies and slippers out because we’re all sick… šŸ˜ž

What the hell good can come out of this?

I have a collection of good memories from my childhood and one is when I was home from school sick. Mum would set it up all cosy in front of the tv and I could snuggle and eat comfort foods. Mum would overly nurse me back to health. The time at home resting as a child is a fond memory.
Perhaps our younger kids who are toddler age won’t remember those details so well, but what a sick day on the couch allows us is some bonding time, time to slow down and just be with your child. Too often are we rushing around and we don’t make the time to sit and be present with them just for cuddles and doing nothing. When we are both sick then your forced into it. Which is a good thing.

When we do this it strengthens the connection between us and our child and later when they get older they will remember that mum was nurturing and loving and they’ll have a warm memory of being sick. Which is a pretty good outcome of a shitty situation.
Sure the house is a mess and the laundry is building up but focus on nursing one and other back to health and give lots of cuddles to your little ones. It’s called bonding. Maybe they’ll get to sleep in your bed just this once too šŸ’•.
