Being a mum, going from a 6 to a 12 and back through pregnancy means you end up with a lot of random jeans. Even if you stay consistent in size, you are likely to have way to many jeans. Distressing them can update the look and make an old pair of jeans your new favourite.
How to distress your jeans:
Try them on. Mark out where you think the tears would look best with chalk or a crayon.
Take them off and use a kitchen grater to create the holes. You can just make a few pulls if you don’t want larger holes. Hold one finger inside the jean and rub with the grater. You need to use the finest side on the grater, the side that you would grate a lemon with.
You can cut the bottom straight off if your a short arse like me, or you cut a straight line above the knee also depending on what look you want to achieve.
I find if you buy distressed jeans the holes never sit in the right place because I’m short, so doing it DIY is the only option for me, plus why wouldn’t you? It’s free!!
